New ATVF web site available
A new website is now available for this year's Advanced Television & Film students, Media Arts students and grads. It can be found at:
www.atvf2003.ca
The new site features a message board for easier communication between students. However, the "Contacts," "News," "Downloads," and "Links" sections are not yet up and running. The www.atvf.ca web site will continue to be maintained until this can be completed.
Call for film entries
The Government of Canada will be opening a new Embassy building in Berlin, Germany in 2004. At this chancery, the Embassy wants to project a modern and innovative image of Canada through various media to the German and European public. The Embassy invites students and film professionals to submit film entries that will be selected for screening and awarded with a cash prize. If you are interested in submitting a film under the theme "Canada. The Innovation Nation" please visit www.canada.de. Please submit your film by March 30, 2004 together with the entry form.

Canada's top ten films screening in January
From January 20th-29th Toronto's International Film Festival Group is presenting Canada's top ten films of 2003. Some of the films included are Les Invasions Barbares (Denys Arcand), Falling Angels (Scott Smith), My Life without Me (Isabel Coixet), Dying at Grace (Allan King), The Corporation (Mark Achbar and Jennifer Abbott) and more. There are brochures in the office if you want more information about the screening schedule.
In most cases the filmmakers will be in attendance at the screenings!
Film festival help available
Here's an amazing tool that helps whittle down the mind-boggling paperwork that comes with applying to film festivals. This site is linked to hundreds of film festivals, and acts like a online publicity manager. Just fill out a one-time form and it helps you shortlist festivals that suits your film, and sends out the applications. You even get a discount on entry fees.

Local actor seeking work
"Hello:
I am an actor/improviser from Hamilton and member of the Casting Workbook online site. I would like to offer my headshot and resume for the films being shot as part of the Sheridan program.
I see the listings on the CW site, but they are often not accompanied by contact information. You might also recommend to the students shooting these films to leave a contact email address in the scripts they put online.
Could you please let me know who I can direct my query to for further submissions?
Cheers,
Kevin Patrick Robbins"
